  Fructooligosaccharide (FOS) is present naturally in fruits, vegetables, and cereals, and as reserve material in onion, chicory, asparagus, garlic, tomatoes, wheat, etc. It is also termed as inulin, fructan, glucofructan, and oligofructan [37].
